Having problems sleeping? Why not try treating your insomnia with reiki? Reiki healing is a form of energy healing which focuses on removing energy blocks within the body. It uses life-force energy, or ‘chi’, to help cleanse a person's entire being by balancing the chakras, the aura, the mind and the physical body. Established in Japan, this energy has been handed down a line of reiki practitioners over the years and promotes safe natural healing of the body. Reiki energy is very soft and peaceful. It helps with many conditions and removes blocks within the body and the chakra system. The healing reiki energy passes from the reiki practitioner to the client with ease, and knows where to go in order to heal that person. During a reiki session a practitioner may touch your body lightly in some areas or not touch you at all. It is all dependant on where they feel the reiki energy needs to go, whether that be towards your physical body or your auric body. Because reiki is so peaceful in nature it has a profound effect on insomnia. Insomnia can be caused by medical conditions, psychiatric conditions or lifestyle habits. More often than not insomnia is caused by anxiety from worrying or being overly busy in our day-to-day lives. Planetary aspects and astrological shifts can also cause us to have sleep disturbances for a period of time. When using reiki for insomnia it is important to go into the sessions with an open mind and a willingness to help your sleep problems. If you are very focused on improving your sleep health then simple lifestyle changes will also help the reiki energy work. With eating healthy and exercising having a positive effect on us receiving reiki energy. Some people find that their sleep patterns improve after only one session. It is usually best to have one session per week, for a month, to help treat insomnia longterm. Some people may require more or less treatments depending on their condition. Your reiki practitioner will be able to advise you how many treatments will personally suit you. Everyone is different in what they experience during a reiki session. Some people may feel completely relaxed, some people may fall asleep, and others may have an emotional response if there are underlying emotional issues that need to be healed prior to inducing sleep. Most people feel a sense of relief after a reiki session though, and feel relaxed but also alert in their daily life. Sleep the following night usually comes easily aswell.
