Mastering the art of seeing someone's aura takes practice, patience and perseverance. Once you've developed this skill it can help you in a variety of ways. Try some of these exercises to help you become an expert in reading auras. Seeing auras is like having another life-hack tool in your tool belt. It can assist you in reading people, their intentions and moods. The following exercises are ones that I have picked up over the years and are a surefire way to help you with all your spiritual modalities and your ability to see auras. I suggest practising these in the order that I have put them in. 1. Hand Rubbing Exercise This is a classic aura-viewing development exercise. As with all aura-viewing exercises you'll want to have a white or light-coloured wall or background available and slightly dull lighting in the room. Even a white sheet will suffice. Sit comfortably on a chair and rub your hands together vigorously. I usually do so for about one minute if possible. Make sure that your hands are in front of the white background that we talked about. Once you've finished rubbing them together (they should be quite hot at this point) slowly part your hands. You should be able to feel a pulling/pushing feeling as you do so; that's the energy of your aura expanding from the activation of it. Letting your eyes slightly lose focus will help you see this energy between your hands. What you should be able to see depends on what your aura and energy field are like at the time. It will appear as an outline of your hands and may have a dull colouring, look milky, sparkly or anything in between! Don't panic or get upset if you don't see anything at first. As I mentioned, seeing auras takes practice, patience and perseverance. So, you may not have any results from this for a while. If you're more clairsentient, like me, you'll be better off enjoying and working with the feeling of your aura to start with (e.g. that pulling/pushing feeling that you can get from this exercise). Keep practising this exercise daily until you start seeing some results. 2. Objects and Auras This aura-viewing exercise can help develop your aura colour reading abilities. Since everything is made of energy, any object will give off an aura. This exercise falls into the category of psychometry (reading or receiving information about an object). I usually use plain-cover books for this exercise though you can use anything. You'll need a bunch of smooth surfaced objects that are in various colours but that are of a similar shape and size. Place one of the objects on a white surface such as a bench or towel. You want to work through each object separately. Stare at the object until your eyes slightly lose focus. As this happens you'll start to see the aura of the object. For example, if you are working with a red book you'll start to see the fuzzy red aura around it. As your aura-viewing abilities strengthen the aura of the object will become clearer. Work through each separate object to allow your mind to expand its awareness of the colours in auras. This exercise may bring up some interesting finds too. The energy from other people may have rubbed off onto some of the objects over the years. For example, if you're working with a second-hand green book you may find its aura to be blue or black rather than green. This is classic psychometry at work and you are getting a sense of what this book has meant, and what feelings it has created for people in the past. 3. The Water Glass This exercise is quite a quick one and will only work on a sunny day. I find the morning sunlight gives the best results. You'll want to use filtered water too. Tap water is so dull and lifeless that its results are mediocre and boring at best. Fill a clean, clear glass 3/4 of the way up with filtered water. Sit it on the window sill. If your window sill is white then even better. Stare at the glass. After a minute or so you'll start to see the energy or aura of the water. It's usually quite sparkly and clear. This exercise doesn't even require your eyes to lose focus as water has so much vital energy running through it the results will come through easily. Think of a waterfall and how captivating the energy from that is and you'll get the gist of what this exercise can do. Drink the water afterwards if you're thirsty :) 4. See Your Own Aura When I was starting my practice of seeing auras voluntarily, this worked best for me in a dark room with candlelight. Sit comfortably in front of a mirror and gaze at yourself. You'll slowly start to see your own aura as your eyes lose focus. The longer you can do this the stronger your aura will come through. This exercise is a great way to practice comfortably and to see where your energy may be lagging in your body. It will also help you recognize any negative thought patterns that you can turn around into something positive. 5. Partnering Up Partnering up with someone else and trying to see each other's auras is a great way to practice. This exercise works quite well in candlelight. Get the other person to sit on a chair facing you with their back to a white background. If they can sit as still as possible it always helps. Sit facing them and let your eyes lose focus. You should eventually start to see the aura around them. Get your partner to try it out on you also. It's amazing what you both can learn from each other in the process! Auras are like people and come in all different shapes, sizes, textures, shades and colours. No two Auras are the same as everyone is constantly feeling and experiencing different things at different times. Remember that your intuition will help you immensely when it comes to reading auras, as it does for me. Good luck and enjoy opening your eyes to another side of the world. xoxo
