Spiritual awakenings can be a lot harder to deal with than you'd expect, and unfortunately the downs often outweigh the ups in all awakenings. This morning I had a panic attack. I don't mean one of the ones which you describe as a panic attack to give a story some suspense, but a full-blown, shake in my boots, overcome with fear, sweating, doom-laden, can't breathe panic attack. They happen every day, every second day if I'm lucky, and have become just a regular part of my everyday life since I was 20 years old. I have counted myself unlucky at times and cursed my inherited genes for having them, although what I didn't discover until years later was that my panic attacks were a natural part of my spiritual awakening. Lucky me gets to be spiritually awakened every day! I found that others who suffered from panic disorder were also highly intuitive and on a very spiritual path themselves. Spiritual awakenings aren't always pleasant. I should know from my years of panic attacks. Often people have a picture in their head of someone looking lovingly at the sunlight while they bask in it's warmth in a daisy filled field and open themselves to the spirit world, becoming enlightened and awakened. I wish it were that way all the time! There are certainly some good experiences connected to spiritual awakenings but, more often than not, spiritual awakenings are preceded by hard experiences and situations. Our souls are constantly trying to awaken and learn as much as possible. Complete wisdom or enlightenment is our soul's end goal. And wisdom is only obtained through learning lessons. It is not a peaceful or easy path but, one which has to be made difficult. The higher the vibration of the lesson, the more difficult the experience will be. When the mind, body and soul go through the process of awakenings, and reaching a higher awareness of internal and external energies, there's only one thing that can happen to the physical body and mind: they MUST become more sensitive to pick up on these other energies. The physical body and mind work in synergy, with the soul parenting them and dictating what needs to be learnt. If the soul wants to learn a new lesson it will open up the mind and the body to do so. Becoming more sensitive, physically and emotionally, is the natural reaction to this demand. Our minds and bodies are competing against a world that is now overstimulating and clouded with junk which can make spiritual awakenings a lot more intense than what they would've been decades ago. Facing an overstimulating world while feeling extra sensitive will always result in a difficult experience. They can manifest differently in everyone. Common signs that you're going through a spiritual awakening include: Panic attacks Colds/ flu/ general sickness Extreme lethargy Feeling 'spacey' for a few days or weeks Hospitalisation In the case of being hospitalised this is probably the most drastic sign of a spiritual awakening. Often these are instigated by your spirit guides who will use modern medical equipment and medical personal to monitor the sharp increase in your vibration. So, if you are experiencing a spiritual awakening there are some things you can do to help, and the best by far is to ground yourself. You can do this by using grounding crystals such as Shungite, Black Obsidian, or any other black or brown crystal. Getting out and about in nature (and away from the hussle and bussle of the overstimulating city). Or eating a lot of ground vegetables such as potatos, kumera or beetroot can also help a lot. Whatever happens, the end result of a spiritual awakening phase is positive. As we are all on a quest to find enlightenment and happiness, these things will naturally come to you once you have faced the difficult experiences. The result will always be a higher vibrational you- awakened and enlightened and ready to take on the next lesson life has to offer. Love and light xoxo P.S. If you're going through a spiritual awakening and need help understanding what is going on then a reading with me might help. You can book a reading online here quickly and easily.

Hi Kim, about a year ago i started having dizzy spells which lead to panic attacks and anxiety (which is something i never thought i would ever experience in my life). Thought it was medical - turns out there was nothing medically wrong with me. I believe we are put through tests for a reason (sometimes not always clear) but its how we work through them that matters. I have many more lessons to learn but wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks
