Food and lifestyle play a big part in our psychic and spiritual development. Here is a lifestyle strategy that will help you develop your psychic abilities further.
We all know that healthy eating and lifestyle choices lead to wellness of the body and mind. It leads to a healthier spiritual you too. The best way to go about this psychic development diet is to pick a month that is void of too many social occasions and go into it with a relaxed mind. Don't put pressure on yourself otherwise, you'll be defeating the purpose of it.
Your body will need to detox before any real work can begin. I usually do this over the first week. Detoxing needs to be done on all levels so it isn't just limited to your diet. There are several detoxing diets and methods available, but these are the things I avoid when detoxing:
- Junk food
- Heavy foods
- Salt and refined sugar
- Hair, skin and body care that isn't organic
- Polluted air (as much as possible!)
- Soda drinks or alcohol
- Tobacco, drugs and medication
- Chemical cleaners and laundry powders
You must talk to your GP or a dietician before undergoing any detox, especially if you require medications for a health condition or certain foods for your health. A detox purges any toxins from the body so this first week can be an especially hard time but is well worth it! Organic fresh fruit and vegetables, purified water and lemon juice should be your staple diet when detoxing.
Along with detoxing yourself, you'll also need to detox and cleanse your environment. This includes your home, work and social circles. This is the reason why I usually take a week off as cleansing your work and social circles is difficult to do, so it's best to avoid them during the detox process. If at all possible try doing most of this before you detox yourself. To cleanse your home you'll need to do these things (and they're best done in this order):
- De-clutter and spring-clean the house and your car
- Clear all rooms with white sage incense
- Air the house out by opening every window and door possible.
- Cleanse all crystals and spiritual objects
- Clean up your garden
When undertaking this psychic development diet try to keep yourself and your environment as clean as possible after the first week. It helps to stick to a clean diet, as the detox diet mentions, and to keep your home clean and clutter-free. This allows the energy around you and in you to move freely and unobstructed.
After Your Detox:
Once your body and environment have detoxed it's time to move forward and look ahead to the next few weeks. The next few weeks are never as strict and as limiting as the detox week and your detox would've helped to prepare you for the rest of the development period.
The following practices are steps that will help you clear your energy and continue developing your skill of accessing information from the spirit and a higher source.
Keep your diet healthy and continue to fill it with fresh fruit and vegetables. Meat, which is essentially a dead being, doesn't help energy flow freely through the body and the auric field.
At this point, we want to try and increase the prana/chi/energy in our body. This is easily done with water. Drink only filtered, pure water during this time. Another great idea is to bottle purified water in different coloured bottles: blue, green, red, yellow, orange, purple, and clear. Let the bottles soak in the sunlight for 12 hours a day. This helps our energy flow nicely through all of our chakras, giving them a healthy boost.
Salt baths will help build up your energy levels and they are also very cleansing. Epsom salts are perfect for in the bath and also Himalayan Salt lamps will bring negative ions into the home which will boost happiness. Although salt is to be avoided during the detoxing process it is vital to psychic development and should be used externally rather than consumed. It also helps to ward off negative or dark energies.
Regular meditation is a requirement during this time. I aim to meditate at every spare opportunity during this time rather than just my usual once or twice a day. Meditation is a very easy way for spirit to pass on information to you and this is what this whole psychic development diet is about! It will also open your chakras and help them spin regularly.
Find a place that is quiet and where you won't be interrupted and just breathe calmly. If you find this difficult then playing some meditation music will help. Crystal placement is also a great addition to meditation to help heal your chakras.
Practice giving thanks to your spirit guides and The Universe. Concentrate on everything good and positive in your life and put the bad stuff down to life/soul experience. You must practice positive thinking during this time to avoid clogging up your energy.
Aim to get two or three massages from a spiritual healer twice a week or even massage yourself if you prefer. This will help your energy flow freely and it is also great for the mind when your body is relaxed.
Exercise for at least 20mins every day. This will keep your physical body strong and grounded during this time. A sluggish body leads to a sluggish mind and we aren't aiming for sluggishness! I like to exercise during the morning and at night so I am exposed to the power of the sun and the moon all in one day.
During this diet, you'll want to avoid as much negativity as possible. Gossipy groups and negative thinking and talking people will drag you down more so than usual during this time so try to avoid them or protect yourself where possible. Negative talk will bring your vibration down. Any obsolete or negative relationships should be discarded during this time.
Use amethyst to help you let go of any addictive habits such as smoking, drinking, gambling or junk food. A body that isn't bound by any addictions has an easier time accessing a higher vibrational level. Spirit will thank you for it if you're able to give these up. If it becomes too much of a struggle do not fret: even cutting down any addictions will be a major benefit to you so don't think that you can't do this diet just because there's something that you can't give up.
I like to start this diet with the new moon and continue for the next month. I'll be starting my next one on the new moon of the 13th of October as the month will be void of any major social occasions and I'll be in the thick of the diet during Beltane (Halloween around the time of the Full Moon), which will mean I can harness more power from this auspicious day.
