A list of full moon and new moon dates for the rest of 2015, plus how to work with the moon in spiritual matters The Moon plays a huge part in our lives as well as an important part in nature. It not only affects things such as the tides but also animal behaviour and how we function as humans. The Moon rules our emotions and behaviour. Everyone is affected by the moon to some degree, some more so than others. It is forever changing and morphing as our emotions and behaviour do. The Moon rules all water signs (Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio). If your Moon Sign is a Water Sign then you will find that your emotions tend to follow the moon just like the tides do. People with Water Moon Signs are the most affected by the moon and its phases. If your Sun Sign is a Water Sign, you stand on the middle ground: sometimes the Moon will tip your emotions off balance and sometimes it won't. Those that have a Fire Moon sign (Aries, Leo or Sagittarius) are the least affected by the Moon. You're pretty safe and steady in your emotions and behaviour when the Moon is doing its thing. It does also mean that you'll need a lot of practice and patience when it comes to working with the Moon and using its power to your advantage. You can go to http://www.lunarium.co.uk/moonsign/calculator.jsp#.VZkRSpUVjug to find your Moon sign. You'll need to know your exact time of birth to get a correct astrological reading on your birth chart though. The New Moon The new moon is a time for reflection on the past month. It's a great time to re-focus and re-energise. Lessons that may not have been apparent during this time will come to you much easier on a New Moon evening. Snuggle up for the night with your favourite blanket and crystals and be content with what you have recently achieved. A New Moon evening has the benefit of clarity of thought. It's a great chance to think about and analyse any given situation. The Full Moon The Full Moon is an especially crazy time. It's no accident that incidents of crime and mischievous behaviour increase on a Full Moon night. Everyone gets a little "Loco" on these evenings. A Full Moon evening is the perfect time to charge crystals and other spiritual tools, as well as our energies. If you have been feeling sluggish or sick recently then sit outside on a Full Moon night and bathe in the energy the Moon's regolith freely provides. A Full Moon evening is not the time for reflection, analytical or logical thought. The Full Moon has far too much energy to allow you to think rationally so don't act on any thoughts or ideas that you have at this time. Wait until the Moon starts to wane. If you are a Water Moon Sign do not (I repeat DO NOT) go out and party on a Full Moon night. Unless you want to make a twit of yourself it's not a wise idea to mix alcohol and the Full Moon with your sensitivity and its influence on your emotions and behaviour. Different Moons & their Meanings Every month the Moon goes through a different cycle of emotion. These emotions change and can't be fixed to any specific month. It's best to go by your instinct and decide what the moon is trying to help you within any particular month. The most recent Full Moon (June's Moon) was covering strength, wisdom and grace. It was the perfect time to ask for these qualities in yourself and to accept the same in others. Consideration should also be given to a Blood Moon. We experienced a Blood Moon early in April this year. The next Blood Moon is due to occur on the 28th of September this year. A Blood Moon occurs when the Earth eclipses a full Moon, the direct sunlight is blocked, but the sun's rays still light up the moon. Although biblical significance is given to the Blood Moon it isn't as severe as it is made out to be. It is not an end of days prediction, more so, a sign of confusion in thought. A Blood Moon can create the illusion of conviction in one's actions and emotions and a lack of understanding of the consequences. Things can be said and done during a Blood Moon that you later regret or that end up with undesired outcomes. So be aware of the Blood Moon and what it can do. The Waxing & Waning Moon Although I am not one to encourage spell-casting, I do believe in good intent. You can work with the waxing or waning Moon to bring positivity into your life and dispel negativity. The Full Moon and New Moon offer a much stronger connection to the Universe but you're still able to project positivity into your life during the waxing and waning moon A waning moon (the time after the Full Moon) is the time to wish away anything negative in your life. A waxing Moon (the time leading up to the Full Moon) is the time to wish for positive things in your life. A word of warning: Do not ill-wish anyone. This will end badly if you do! Instead, if someone is being a pain in the arse wish for understanding on your part or the courage to brush off their negative behaviour. NEVER wish for them to be hurt or removed from your life. They are there for a reason, usually to help you grow spiritually, so don't cheat yourself out of a life lesson, just call it a lesson learned, or you'll only attract bad karma. Crystals and the Moon A Full Moon is the perfect opportunity to cleanse and charge your crystals. The light from the Moon will dispel any built-up energy on your crystals and give them a good thorough cleanse. This leaves them primed for charging. Leave your crystals outside in the moonlight for the evening of the Full Moon and the following night too. This will allow enough time for the Moon's magic to cleanse and charge them. Once this has been done you'll find that your crystals are once again quite easy to work with, lighter, offer more clarity or insight and work better when using them to assist in any physical matters. As crystals are a natural substance this is also their natural need: to be enveloped by moonlight once a month. Other items that can be cleansed by the Moon's light are Tarot cards, smudging sticks, chalices and wands. Anything that needs cleansing and charging, including yourself! So embrace the Moon and everything it has to offer. We all understand the benefits of cleansing and charging (every day we shower and sleep) so take some time to let the Moon do what it does best. Good luck, now go and enjoy the Moon! xoxo New Moon Dates for 2015: 16 July 15 August 13 September 13 October 12 November 11 December Full Moon Dates for 2015: 31st July 30 August 28 September 28 October 26 November 26 December
